Payment of fees for participation in a scientific conference

I. General provisions

hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”, is the owner of the website: https://nubianstudies2022.uw.edu.pl/

  1. The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw (abbreviated as PCMA UW) is the Organizer of the 15th International Conference for Nubian Studies (hereinafter referred to as the “Conference”) which will take place in Warsaw from August 29th, 2022, till September 4th, 2022. The Conference is educational and scientific and is addressed to researchers from the fields of archaeology, history and ethnology.
  2. Participation in the Conference is possible upon submission of an application and payment of the Conference fee. Paid participation in the Conference entitles the Participant to:
    1. participation in plenary sessions and discussions of thematic panels within the Conference;
    2. receive Conference materials;
    3. access to Conference catering;
    4. participation in events and functions provided by the Organizer.
  3. In exceptional situations, the participant may be exempt from the Conference fee; the decision in each case is at the Organizer’s discretion.

II. Forms of payment

  1. Payments for the Conference should be made via the PayU system, by bank transfer (pay-by-link) or by credit card payment, or direct transfer to the account specified by the Organizer. Online payment on behalf of the Organizer is handled and secured by PayU. The fee is credited to the account of the University of Warsaw. The Conference website nubianstudies2022.uw.edu.pl receives only information about the status of the transaction, information about the card number or CVV code used to authorize the card remain confidential.
  2. The amount of the Conference fees is specified on the Conference website https://nubianstudies2022.uw.edu.pl/.
  3. Due dates:
    1. The deadline for submitting an application for participation in the Conference is June 15th, 2022.
    2. Deadline for the payment of the fee for participation in the Conference is September, 4th, 2022 or the first day of the participant’s attendance in the Conference.
    3. Failure by the Participant to pay the Conference fee within the dates indicated above may entitle the Organizer to cancel the participation.

III. Cancellation of the service and refund of the fee

  1. The Participant may resign from taking part in the Conference. The Participant’s resignation should have a written form and should be sent to the email address of the Conference: nubianstudies2022@uw.edu.pl.
  2. The Conference fee is non-refundable.

IV. Final provisions

  1. The Participant cannot transfer his/her rights and obligations under these Regulations to third parties without the prior written consent of the Conference Organizer.
  2. By submitting the application, the Participant declares that he/she has read the Content of the Regulations and accepts its terms.
  3. Registration to the Conference is tantamount to confirmation of consent to the processing of personal data by the Organizer for the purposes of the Conference on the terms resulting from generally applicable law, with particular emphasis on the Act on the Protection of Personal Data of 29 August 1997 (Journal of Laws of 2002.101.926 as amended). The data provided during the on-line registration will be processed by the University of Warsaw, with its registered office in Warsaw, 26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście St. (Taxpayer Identification Number: 525-001-12-66, National Business Registry Number: 000001258). Providing data is voluntary, but necessary to participate in the Conference. The participant is entitled to inspect and modify the data.
  4. The Organizer is not responsible for any damage caused by providing false data or other types of irregularities on the part of the Participants.
