INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS

Papers
Keynotes shall last 45 minutes, with an allowance of 15 minutes for discussion after each.

Session papers should not exceed 20 minutes, with an allowance of 5 minutes for discussion after each paper.

Technical issues
Speakers should bring their presentation on a USB memory stick. All conference rooms will have a computer, with an attached projector. The computers provided by the Congress are installed with Windows and MS Office. The preferred format is .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation).  If you are working on a presentation in another environment e.g. LibreOffice Impress/OpenOffice Impress etc., please check your presentation after exporting to .pptx format.

Please arrive in your presentation room 10–15 minutes in advance, to familiarize yourself with the room, set-up, and test your presentation. The recommended presentation format is the panoramic mode/widescreen (16:9).
Important note for Macintosh users: if using a computer with MacOS for creating presentation file, please note that you should check it’s compatibility with Microsoft Windows/ Microsoft PowerPoint in terms of displaying media and overall stability.

Poster guidelines

  • The poster needs to be in A1 format (width 59.4 x height 84.1 cm; portrait orientation)
  • For the A1 format the body text size should be 24 or larger
  • Images should be of a high resolution (300 dpi or higher)
  • Images other than your own may be subject to copyright. It is important that you clear copyright with the copyright owner, or use images that are licenced for use, such as those available under Creative Commons licences (creativecommons.org). It is the author/s responsibility to secure all required copyrights

If you wish to print your poster in Warsaw, then there are numerous commercial printing points scattered all over the city. The nearest to the conference venue is located on the Campus of the University of Warsaw (http://www.taniekserowanie.pl/index.php/kontakt). I printed there on numerous occasions so I can recommend the place. The price for colour print in A1 format is approximately 50 PLN (11 Euro). However, it can vary depending on the paper and printing method you select.

INTERNET ACCESS IN THE CONGRESS VENUE
The University of Warsaw provides free wireless Internet access at the venue.
You may either log into the eduroam network – with the user/password you would normally use at your home institution or to the special conference network.
